It has a user friendly interface and its controls are easy to master.
Mulab software software#
The software includes numerous tools and predefined effects. All you need to know is that it provides you with everything you need to refine your music and soundtracks in a comfortable manner. A high quality sound engine, automatic mono and stereo handling, the possibility of working with multiple session or its support for multi-core processors are just a few examples. If you wish to apply a certain effect on a composition, recording or other sounds, you only need to move that sound to the appropriate channel, by clicking and dragging. We have evaluated the 12 variants of MULAB on 175 concerns from 9 Java software systems, and choose a best performing variant. If you want to do the basics - record/edit MIDI and audio, mix, use plug-ins etc - and like the idea of a simple, no-clutter interface, MuLab is certainly worth. We propose 12 variants of MULAB by using different data fusion methods.
Mulab software code#
When creating an instrument or effect channel, the software will display a control panel, on which you can fine tune your instrument or effect. MULAB then uses these representations to compute the similarity between a concern and a code unit. All channels are color coded and you can find their corresponding mixing tables in the lower region of the interface. You can also create your own composition, using a MIDI keyboard.

The software allows you to create several audio channels, in the central region of the interface, in which you can place audio files, predefined sounds, predefined clips, voice recordings or instrument tracks. Once you extract the files, you can run the program's executable, without making any kind of configurations.Īlthough MuLab is easier to use than other audio editors, you still have to take your time and study its user interface.

You can extract its core files from a Zip archive, which is almost 20 MB. Despite its advanced functionality, MuLab is lightweight and it doesn't need to be installed.
Mulab software for mac os x#
It is available for Mac OS X and Windows operating systems and it is known to work on Linux platforms as well, with the Wine Windows emulator. The software is free, but you can also find it in Extended and Ultimate versions. Compared to other similar programs, MuLab is much easier to use, due to its well organized user interface. It provides all the tools you need to edit and enhance your audio tracks and recordings. Professional audio editors are expensive and their controls are difficult to master, but this is not the case with MuLab. If you like the sound of MuLab, it's worth trying the free version, but most musos would be better off with a more professional DAW, like the cheaper and far slicker Reaper.Audio editors are essential tools for anyone who wants to add a unique soundtrack to a video montage or people who wish to record their own songs and make them sound better. We can absolutely appreciate that MuLab has its fans, thanks to its unorthodox approach and modular architecture, but for music production, it's hard to recommend over more rounded and capable rivals. The improvements for v5 indicate that things are moving in this direction, so hopefully this will continue. The software is not "broken" in a fundamental way, but a rethink of some facets of the interface and the implementation of standard DAW paradigms where appropriate (eg, record arming) is needed to bring it into line with modern expectations.
Mulab software plus#
On the plus side, MuLab seems stable, and there are neat touches like the adjustable pre/ post fader point. Even when you do, the interface feels idiosyncratic and long-winded alongside other DAWs, lacking much of the functionality we've come to expect. From the garish, chunky interface to the reliance on menus, it's an effort to get to grips with. Our overriding impression of MuLab 5 is that it feels like a product of another, simpler era.

And there's no plugin delay compensation, which is forgiveable given the price, but without a simple track delay offset, you can't easily apply manual correction. Setting up to record audio is fiddly, involving a settings page rather than the one-click 'arm track' approach of other DAWs. "Our overriding impression of MuLab 5 is that it feels like a product of another, simpler era" You can't type in values for things like fader levels either. The default key assignments are lacking - for instance, you can't transpose MIDI via the usual method of selecting notes and using the up/ down cursor keys, and to access typical MIDI functions, you have to use the right-click menu's submenus (which have to be re-opened with a click each and every time).
